Challenge
Counseling protocols for HIV/STD prevention were found to be effective but too time-intensive and costly to deliver by human counselors.
Solution
Under a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract, we developed a platform for delivering health care counseling base on a behavior change model. We deployed this platform in a number of forms and research settings, including in health clinics, in a prison setting (Rikers' Island in New York), and to deliver suicide prevention training and certification to over 10,000 health care professionals.
